On 7 October 2026, Dr Iwona Wasielewska-Marszałkowska, from the Department of Logistics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland, delivered a guest lecture to undergraduate students at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University.

The lecture, titled “Innovation in Supply Chain Management: Trends, Challenges and Practical Insights into 3PL and 4PL Logistics Services”, combined theoretical insights with practical examples. It explored innovative approaches adopted by third-party logistics providers (3PL) and fourth-party logistics integrators (4PL), alongside the trends and challenges shaping logistics services. An interactive quiz encouraged students to engage with the topics discussed. The training highlighted the relevance of logistics innovation to the EU Single Market, where efficient supply chains support cross-border trade, connect businesses and strengthen competitiveness. These insights are particularly valuable for understanding how companies from North Macedonia can participate in European supply chains and access the EU market.

By connecting academic knowledge with business practice, the event broadened students’ understanding of the relationship between logistics, international trade and European economic integration.
