On May 5, 2025, the Faculty of Economics – Skopje hosted the Annual Award Ceremony for the best essay on a topic related to the European Union. The event was organized in celebration of Europe Day and Macedonian Language Day.
H.E. Mr. Michalis Rokas, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of North Macedonia, delivered a lecture on the topic: “The EU Green Transition and Its Impact on the Western Balkan Countries.” Addressing students and attendees, the Ambassador emphasized the need for implementing measures to combat climate change and pollution, the importance of renewable energy and the circular economy, as well as the significance of building partnerships and investing in the green transition. The topic sparked great interest among the students and led to a fruitful discussion with both students and academic staff.
The event also featured remarks by Prof. Dr. Mijalce Santa, Prof. Dr. Elena Makrevska Disoska, Head of the Jean Monnet Chair, and Prof. Dr. Violeta Cvetkoska, Head of the EUi Center for Data and Information on the European Union at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje.
As part of the event, awards were presented to the best student essays. First place was awarded to Ivan Trajkovski, second place to Oliver Stefanov, and third place to Martina Siljanovska.
