On April 24, 2025, from 9:15 to 11:00, the Faculty of Economics – Skopje, within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair project, welcomed distinguished guest lecturers from the NGO Green Planet for All. This event was part of our ongoing commitment to promoting sustainability and deepening students’ understanding of European Union policies. The lecture was attended by undergraduate students from the Faculty of Economics – Skopje.
The first lecture was delivered online by Mr. Bram van den Groenendaal, Policy Advisor on Climate, Environment, and Industry at the European Parliament. Mr. van den Groenendaal is actively involved in the coordination, negotiations, and political strategy related to the European Green Deal and the Clean Industrial Deal. He provided valuable insights into the legislative processes within the European Parliament, offering students and faculty a closer look at how climate and industrial policies are shaped at the EU level.
The second lecture was presented in person by Mr. Ervin Redzepagić,representative of NGO Green Planet for All. His talk focused on the current state of alignment between Macedonian legislation and EU regulations in the energy field. He emphasized the challenges and progress made in the process of harmonization, engaging participants in a discussion about the national steps needed to meet EU standards. Mr. Redzepagić also addressed the broader energy situation in North Macedonia, outlining the main sources of energy production and underlining the urgent need for structural changes.
We thank Green Planet for All and our guest speakers for their contribution and for inspiring the next generation of economists and policymakers.
